Rules of the house
Some basic rules for the benefit of all

Vacant berths   Any berth still vacant at 1800 any day will be allocated for visitor use unless we have been notified that the berth-holder is returning.

Obstructions   Walkways should be kept free of obstructions. Please stow dinghies on board unless a separate berth has been arranged and do not leave warps, power cables, tenders, etc., on the pontoons. No fishing or cycling is permitted on the pontoons. Also, please do not place your own boarding steps where they may cause inconvenience to other berth-holders.

Warps and fenders   Boats must be secured with adequate warps and fenders. Where we consider it necessary, we will supply additional items and charge the owner. Bow lines, stern lines and springs should be individual warps – not with a single rope serving two or more of these purposes.

Fixtures to pontoons   No mooring lines, fenders, steps, cleats, etc., should be permanently fixed to the pontoons without permission. Mooring lines may not be left behind when the boat is absent.

Petrol   No petrol tanks are to be filled on the marina under any circumstances.

Tide   Please take careful account of the tidal conditions when manoeuvring in the marina.

Boat length   For charging purposes, the length of the boat is its overall length measured from the extreme forward point (including bowsprits, anchors, pulpits, etc.) to the aftermost point (including bathing platforms, davits, or engines).

Shared berths   All marina berths are shared, so another boat will be moored alongside. Staff are available to move outside boats and to assist berth-holders arriving or leaving.

Unfrapped halyards   Do remember to secure and frap all halyards so that your neighbours may have a peaceful night’s sleep.

Environment   We maintain high environmental standards. Do avoid using sea toilets while alongside our pontoons. The shore-based facilities are available 24 hours a day, so please do not use the ship’s heads while in the marina. Under no circumstances should oils or dirty bilge water be discharged into the river.

We thank all berth-holders for their consideration towards
other customers using our marina and our marine environment
