Dart River Pilot
Page 3 of 10. Past Noss Marina to the Anchor Stone

Higher Ferry   Continue upstream past the floating Res Nova restaurant and the fuel barge. The Higher Car Ferry has paddle wheels and runs on cables strung across the river – so do not pass too close behind its stern or your keel may catch the cable.

Noss Marina   The entrance to Old Mill Creek can be seen to port. This is only navigable close to high water. If you do go in, follow the moorings closely until there are no more; then keep to the outside of the bends for the rest of the way in. On the main river, you are about to reach our facilities. Noss Marina is the next item of interest, clearly visible to starboard. For availability of visitors’ berths, contact us on VHF Ch 80.

Anchor Stone   Continuing up the river (or setting off from Noss) keep to the starboard side of the river round the gentle bend leading to the Anchor Stone with its prominent red pole with red can topmark [Fl (2) 5s]. At high water, the stone itself is covered. Leave the mark well to port.
