Marine Jobs Vision for Noss Site

E-mail Print

modelssmallFinal plans for regenerating the former Philip & Son shipyard and the existing Noss marina site have been submitted to South Hams District Council.

The key elements included in the outline planning application are: marine workshops; marine offices; the Noss Marine Academy run by South Devon College; an expanded marina; marina-related retail shops; a five star hotel with conference facilities, cafe, restaurant and a health spa; and private housing. A financial contribution of approximately £12 million will be made by the developers towards affordable housing in the local area.

The development is expected to create in excess of 300 jobs, many of which will be in the marine industry. South Devon College has started training courses for students at its new Noss Marine Academy in temporary accommodation on the site - a permanent facility is being provided as part of the redevelopment.

Final plans, a model of the development and a dvd will be on public display in early September click here for details.

Further details of the scheme are shown on the proposals page and you can download copies of key documents on the planning documentation page of the website. There is a downloadable presentation on the development, click here. Further information is given about the consultation process, there is an information archive under newsroom and you can also contact us if you want to know more.
