| Any sailor who has ever made a night passage is most appreciative of the lighthouse service provided by Trinity House. Only a handful of Trinity House’s lighthouses are open to the public, but this short list includes Start Point in its spectacular location at the southern end of Start Bay. Start Point Lighhouse is open seven days a week during July and August from 11:00am to 5:00pm. For the rest of the year between Easter and end September it is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 12:00 noon to 5:00pm. The forty minute tour is informative and with splendid views from the Lantern Room – a "must do" for any sailor! |
